Microsoft Stops Manufacturing Of Xbox 360 After 10 Years


The company is stopping production of the console, which turned 10 years old last November. Existing Xboxes will still be sold, until supplies have run out.
The news was announced via a blog post written by Xbox head Phil Spencer,who says 
“Thanks to the Xbox 360, we evolved Xbox Live from the original Xbox into the thriving online gaming community it is today And the console became a beloved gaming and entertainment hub with over 78 billion gaming hours played, nearly 486 billion Gamerscore on 27 billion achievements and over 25 billion hours spent in apps over its lifetime.”

Since its launch back in 2005, Microsoft’s console managed to sell around 85 million units globally.  The console was the best selling console in the US between January 2011 and October 2013. Xbox 360, you will be missed.
