How To Fix Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Errors, Crashes, Performance Issues, Black Screen

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is now finally out on PC and available on Steam, after a delay of six months. The game is starting the final quarter of the year in gaming matters, and it revives the fantastic Deus Ex franchise with a new installment. This time, you will continue to play the role of Adam Jensen, an experienced covert agent forced to operate in a world where he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.

On Steam, the game has about 7.000 mixed reviews, and this is because of the issues that players are encountering. Like most of the new big game releases these days, the PC port comes with a fair share of errors and bugs. Players complained about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided errors and issues like:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Errors:

#1 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Crashes

It seems that the game has some certain points in which it will crash, a lot of players complained about Shooting Range, TF29 elevator, Subway loading scene and other scenarios. Also, the game might just crash randomly or at startup as some users complained about this too. To fix the game crashes, either at a certain scenario or random, follow the solution below.

#2 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Mouse Acceleration Bug

Constant mouse acceleration is the most annoying issue in the game. Also, it feels like the vertical axis is slower than the horizontal axis. To fix this follow the workarounds below.

This is a complaint from a user on the Steam Dashboard: “Mouse controls are broken, couldn’t play it myself, will wait for fixes. Basically, the Y-axis is a fraction of the speed of X-axis.  X-axis speed is fine for me, but the Y-axis is one-third the speed of X-axis -> unplayable.”

Workarounds:

• Turn on Vsync
• Set your mouse sensitivity in game to 0% and use DPI to increase sensitivity

#3 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DirectX 12 Issue

Currently, this is not an issue of the game because the developers announced that the support for DirectX would come at a later date. So you just need to wait until that happens.

“Contrary to our previous announcement, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, which is shipping on August 23rd, will unfortunately not support DirectX 12 at launch. We have some extra work and optimizations to do for DX12, and we need more time to ensure we deliver a compelling experience,”the studio announced on Steam.

#4 Deus Ex: Mankind Black Screen Bug

Some players are experiencing a black screen when they try to play the game in fullscreen mode or when some cutscene appears. If you are experiencing the fullscreen one you need to press Alt+Tab to make the game go in windows mode and after that adjust the resolution of your game to the one of your desktop or vice versa. Another workaround is to use 60hz refresh rate for your screen.

“I was getting a black screen on this mission and would still hear stuff while the black screen was up and could even quit the game by pressing ctrl alt delete and closing the game. It kept doing the black screen until I changed all of my settings down to off and low and turned off exclusive fullscreen and Vsync and lowered my resolution. So basically a fix for this is to mess with your graphics settings until it launches, good luck! I am getting back to the action.”

#6 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Breach – Final Reward

Developers reported this: “We have identified an issue where the final reward for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach is awarded to the player indefinitely, once he continues clearing maps after having completed the game.
As a temporary fix, this reward has been replaced. Once the issue is fully fixed, the correct reward will be put back in place. Users who have completed Breach in the meantime will retroactively receive the reward.

#5 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Download Stuck

Try to restart your Steam and your router, if these solutions won’t help you try to change your download region. This will usually fix the download stuck issue, and your download will start again, after that you can change to your desired region back.
