Mafia 3 Review (updated)

After years of rumor and speculation, a Mafia 3 release has finally been confirmed. With a release seemingly getting closer, we want to take a look at the most important things to know right now about Mafia 3.
Its been over five years since the release of Mafia 2, a period shooter that arrived for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game followed the story of Vito Scaletta and a number of other memorable characters in the fictional city of Empire Bay.
Mafia 2 received mostly positive reviews due to its solid story line, cast of characters, gunplay, graphics, music, and more. In the years since its release, fans of the series have been calling on 2K Games to deliver another addition to the Mafia family of games and it looks like fans of Mafia are finally getting their wish.

Mafia 3 Release Date

Let’s start with the Mafia 3 release date.
Last year, the companies released a teaser confirming a Mafia 3 release for 2016. An exact release date is still unknown though there are some possible clues out there.

An April 26th Mafia 3 release date is floating around thanks to retailer listings. That date isn’t confirmed but it’s the first specific date that we’ve seen. That date comes from Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop, two of the biggest retailers in the United States.
Amazon is still listing its release date as April 26th.

Mafia 3 Gameplay

In mid-December, Hanger 13 and 2K Games released 12 minutes of Mafia 3. The video features commentary and it also features some of the game mechanics and combat.

Opinions have been mixed with some praising the modern look, environments and combat. Others have voiced their displeasure with the direction.
It will be interesting to see how (if it does) the game changes between now and the game’s upcoming release date
